Polystyrene coffee cups… another use
- Posted in Art & Sculpture, Polystyrene Uses by Fran

Landscape from foam coffee cups
Polystyrene or Styrofoam is a material that people often recognise and one of its most popular applications is as a humble coffee cup. It’s, therefore, interesting to see such a familiar item used in a creative way.
Tara Donovan creates unexpected sculptures out of everyday items – cups, pencils, buttons, tape and toothpicks.
The undulating landscape uses thousands of stacked polystyrene cups to create this amazing piece.
Now would anyone like to guess how many cups were used?

Now that’s someone with too much time on their hands!
Pretty cool though.

Thanks for the comment David.
They may have way too much time on their hands but at least they are passing it creatively and with a great deal of patience.
