Follow Up.

Not surprisingly the foam banana was declined, but we did decide to send Grannymar a couple of Toyboys.

Thanks Grannymar & Cathal for you comments.

@Grannymar.
I could see your scenario possibly being true, but hitting the same store twice ..... I don't know.

@Cathal
(1) Most plausible answer but it would hardly be an object that could be useful in a flat, even with a novelty factor.
(2) Having not met any gorilla thief's previously I'm not in a position to comment on this one.
(3) If only. I'm lucky to get out of county Louth never mind the country. Must admit though, the foam banana did look good.

3 options:

1) First person back with a giant banana is relieved of flat cleaning duties, and gets to skip a round of buying a slab of beer (e.g. Dutch Gold). Standard affair. ;)

2) The gorilla thief has a more unusual sexual fetish and a rather large partner

3) (my money's on this one).. Made in Hollywood were on tour in Fond du Lac, and the temptation was just that bit too strong. Fran pays a local homeless woman to steal the banana, because the clean cut lines and well disguised styro beads were just TOO MUCH. Visitors are no longer encouraged to visit the Made in Hollywood workshop (at least until this particular fanfare calms down).

I bet it is a college prankster. I know of student flats that had road signs, traffic cones and goodness knows what else as trophies from ideas hatched at drunken nights in the Students Union. Some items took weeks to acquire.
